Electrician/Instrumentation Specialist

The Town of West Warwick has an opportunity for an experienced Electrician/Instrumentation Specialist at its 10.5 MGD Advanced Wastewater Facility. The Electrician/Instrumentation is responsible for the maintenance and repairs of electrical systems, equipment, instrumentation controls and must be familiar with SCADA.  Works under the general direction of the Wastewater Superintendent and Assistant Wastewater Superintendent, this position performs work according to standard trade practices and requires the application of considerable judgment in diagnosing difficult problems and determining appropriate corrective action.  The candidate must have working knowledge of testing equipment such as multi meters, amp meters, electrical insulation, test equipment and circuit locators.  Considerable knowledge of low to medium voltage and emergency generators as well as experience in the installation and repair of rigid conduit and explosion proof rated devices is necessary.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED with three years of industrial electrical experience.  The candidate must have a valid Rhode Island Journeyman Electrician license issued by Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training; however a valid Rhode Island Master Electrician license is preferred.  A valid state driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to employment is required. This position is considered essential, and must be available for all shifts, call backs, and during emergencies events.

Miscellaneous Information
